As Mozaico students and afficionados already know, Al Mozaico Flamenco Dance Academy usually has a summertime performance called "El Jaleo". Traditionally, we have had this informal performance at our dance studio but this year we will have a special summer performance at the Capilano Performing Arts Theatre in North Vancouver to celebrate the art of flamenco!
Our students work hard during the term, focusing on technique and choreography. All classes will be preparing various choreography including:
Tangos
Solea
Solea por bulerias
Alegrias
Petenera
Bulerias
AND, of course, our TANGOS and BULERIAS soloists are getting ready for their 2 minutes of fame, so mark your calendars to support our flamenco students.
We will be inspired by Vancouver's professional musicians, El Maestro Oscar Nieto, Juan de Marias, Emad Armoush, Jafelin Helten and Cyrena Huang. Special cameo performance by our Kasandra La China, Pirouz de Caspio and our Mozaico Flamenco Dancers, Shyiang Strong and Michelle Harding.
Flamenco Coast's guitarist, Rod Malkin, will also be helping out with our sound tech! Ole!
