Flamenco Dim Sum
Mozaico Flamenco presents “Flamenco Dim Sum” an evening of intimate cuadro flamenco featuring improvisational flamenco dance with the spontaneity of live musicians.
Flamenco originates from the sunny south of Spain, Andalusia, and is known for its rich, passionate multicultural roots — Roma, Spanish, Andalusian, Moorish and Arabic. Well, Vancouver has quite the multicultural mix of its own! We take the Flamenco temper and mix it with authentic expressions of our Canadian artists of Chinese, Greek, Italian and European backgrounds.
What is “Dim Sum”, you might ask? Time to google it because you are missing out! “Dim Sum” is one of the great meals in Chinese culture at the intersection of breakfast, brunch and late lunch! Vancouver connoisseurs of Asian dining all know that our city is famous for its awesome “Dim Sum”.
If the Spanish eat shared “tapas”, the Chinese wheel carts laden with dumplings, noodles and steamed buns around to tables as diners linger over tea. Anything goes in this meal. You keep ordering “this and that” until you ready to roll out the door.
In this spirit, Mozaico Flamenco performs “this and that” and spectators sample a wide range of traditional flamenco dances including Fandangos, Tangos and Bulerias, and then we mix in some contemporary surprises.

Siempre Con Arte y Amor!” 7:30pm
On April 30, ExplorASIAN launches “Vancouver Asian Heritage Month” with Mozaico Flamenco performing in the gala at 10am, and at Vancouver’s “silk road” restaurant, the Chai Lounge at 7pm.
On May 1, Mozaico Flamenco is very pleased to launch the new “Sunday Salon Series” in North Vancouver at the Anne MacDonald Studio which will bring regular flamenco shows to the Lonsdale neighbourhood on Sundays.
Act 1 starts at 7:30pm. 45-50 minutes professional show, followed by a Question and Answer period over wine for $5, so the audience can meet the artists.
Act 2 starts at 8:30pm and continues in a community circle, like the tablaos in the caves of Sacromonte, Granada. Flamenco is a vibrant art form that lives on audience interaction in the form of handclapping and shouts, OLE! Celebrate this wonderful event with Mozaico Flamenco.
